Nassau, Bahamas – As the search kicks off to find the world’s most desirable man - Mr. World 2010 – the hopes of The Bahamas are resting on the shoulders of award winning model Kendrick David Kemp to bring the title home. The Miss Bahamas Organization® - licensee of the Mr. World competition in The Bahamas - recently selected Mr. Kemp to represent The Bahamas at the world’s most prestigious male competition.
A record number of countries are expected to compete for the title in Incheon, South Korea on March 27 with an expected global TV audience in excess of 1 billion people. The event will command huge world-wide attention as the most desirable men, as elected by their own countries, battle it out for the right to be Mr. World. Businessmen, doctors, nurses, TV presenters, contractors, accountants, fitness instructors, professional athletes, entrepreneurs, engineers, entertainers, and students from around the globe are preparing to tackle challenges that will test their physical fitness, endurance, mental agility and style to determine the World’s most desirable man.
Mr. Kemp is ready for the challenge. He has experience on his side, having competed in the Mr. Caribbean Bahamas competition. He is an award winning fashion model who has appeared in the Islands of the World Fashion Week where he won the title of Male Model Muse, and the Mercedez Benz Fashion Week in New York.
Delegates in the hotly contested Mr. World 2010 will arrive in Incheon on March 12 to compete in a three-week festival of adventure to test the character, determination and masculinity of the national titleholders. They will be stretched to the limits in a series of challenges devised to test fitness, fortitude and form. But it takes more than macho-ism and good looks to win an international title as sought-after as Mr. World 2010. What makes this contest so spectacular is the range of abilities and skills that will be tested. The men will be judged on strength of character, stamina and determination to succeed, as much as physical appearance, style and presentation abilities.
Mr. Kemp says he is looking forward to representing The Bahamas proudly at Mr. World. “I feel that I truly embody the characteristics for which the competition is known, namely identifying that man in the world who can best show his strength, stamina, mental agility and determination to succeed in the face of adversity,” he said. Mr. Kemp thanked those who have made his dream of competing at Mr. World come true, including the Miss Bahamas Organization® and its president Michelle Malcolm; Macumbla “Comby” Smith who assisted with training and choreography; Buttons Formal Wear, The BAAA’s, The Sports Center, Bonneville Bones, and Mode Iles for their support.
