Kingdor's National Parkinson Foundation holds 7th Annual Speech Competition

Nassau, Bahamas - The Kingdor National Parkinson Foundation held its 7th Annual Speech Competition at the British Colonial Hilton under the theme, "The Gift of Sharing." Thirty eight schools throughout the Bahamas accepted the invitation to take part in the speech competition and those who advanced in the preliminaries competed on Sunday 19th November in front of excited family and friends and Mrs. Patricia Minnis, wife of the Prime Minister, who brought remarks on his behalf. The junior and senior topics this year were as follows: "Parkinson: "Persistence, Preservation and Power ...find your strength and defeat Parkinson's diseases."
 
The Ministry of Education congratulates this year's  winners from the Junior Division: Tremaine Johnson of D.W. Davis Junior High School (1st Place); Cannan Cooper of Aquinas College (2nd Place); and Joshua Deveaux of Jordan Prince William (3rd Place). Winners from the Senior Division include:  Aljero Knowles of St. Andrews School  (1st Place), Anwar Butterfield of St. Anne's (2nd Place) and Jonnee Roker of C.V. Bethel Senior High School (3rd Place).
