Local entrepreneurs are ready for 2016

Nassau, New Providence - The entrepreneurial spirit is still alive in The Bahamas. One hundred (100) new entrepreneurs and existing business owners participated in the ENTREPRENEUR EMPOWERMENT WORKSHOP hosted by Mark A. Turnquest and The Small Business Resource Centre on November 07, 2015.

The three main goals of the Small and Medium Size Enterprise (SME) workshop were to: (1) provide information on how to start, manage and grow a business in an effective and efficient manner; (2) enlighten new entrepreneurs and existing SME owners on how to successfully prepare and execute business plans; and (3) provide a national report on the progress of the SME Act, SME Developing Agency (SMEDA) and Online Business Registration and Renewal.

Business presenters at the event included:  Z. Timothy Adderley, Team Leader for Client Services at the Department of Inland Revenue; Mr. Peter Bridgewater, President at Open Systems; Ms. Shernell A. Gardiner, Financial Controller at the National Workers Co-operative Credit Union; Ms. Sherrell Storr, BCCEC.s Small Business Help Desk Administrator; Ms. Lorraine Evans an Insurance Executive at Colina Insurance; and Mr. Sean Brennen, Fund Administrator at Bahamas Entrepreneurial Venture Fund. Mr. Kareem Hanchell, President of SDC Bahamas and Mr. Wayne Johnson, President of Wayne Johnson International; were Masters of Ceremony.
