Michael Maura, Jr. Joins AML Board Of Directors

Shipping industry leader, Michael Maura, Jr., Appointed to AML Board

Nassau, Bahamas - The Board of Directors of AML Foods Limited today announced the appointment of Mr. Michael Maura, Jr. as a Director, effective January 20th, 2016.  His appointment expands the AML Board to eight Directors.

Mr. Maura brings more than 25 years experience in the shipping and logistics industry to this new appointment. He joined the APD Limited (Arawak Port Development) team as a founding director in 2009 and now sits at the helm of the largest publically traded company in The Bahamas as its President & CEO. Prior to his current position, he worked in the grocery industry at the former City Markets and Solomon’s Wholesale Club. Maura also served as President of Tropical Shipping’s subsidiary Container Terminals, Ltd.

“Mike is a local leader in the shipping and logistics industry and we are pleased to welcome him to the AML Board of Directors,” said Dionisio D'Aguilar, Chairman of the Board at AML Foods Limited.  “We believe his decades of experience working in industries from grocery to shipping and transportation will be extremely valuable, as AML continues to grow our business in The Bahamas.”

Mr. D’Aguilar further added: “When expanding our Board, we looked for someone who could further strengthen the current talent and expertise. I am confident that Mike is going to make a positive impact on our company and will contribute to the future growth of AML.”

Mr. Maura graduated from Rollins College where he was an Economics Major and Business Minor. He completed several postgraduate certifications including The Executive Program from the University of Michigan and the IADB Single Window for Foreign Trade.

Currently, he is a Director of the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and serves on the government’s National Development & Reconstruction Unit. Maura was born in Nassau, Bahamas. He is married with three children.
