NAD Vice President, Commercial Development, John Spinks retires

Commercial Development VP moves on…..

Nassau, Bahamas - Nassau Airport Development’s Vice President of Commercial Development, John Spinks, will retire from the company effective February 29th, to pursue other interests. John has had a long career, with some 25 years spent in the airport industry, 5 of them here in Nassau at Linden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) with Vantage Airport Group (formerly Vancouver Airport Services).

While at LPIA, John was instrumental in implementing a number of transformative commercial enterprises for LPIA – quality American branded and Bahamian themed food and beverage outlets, quality retail stores focusing on Bahamian products, and an airline lounge, among others.

He has also guided a number of other key strategic commercial initiatives that are pending – hotel lounges in the Arrivals Terminal, and a new hotel on the airport campus.

“I am pleased and proud to have been able to contribute to this historic airport development project, and to have played a part in creating a solid commercial platform for the stakeholders to build upon for some time to come, “ says Spinks. “My time here in Nassau has been amazing, working with an incredible team at NAD, collaborating with industry stakeholders who are committed, and my wife and I have made some lifelong friends here. We will always remember the warmth of the people and the weather.”

While Spinks retires from the company, Stewart Steeves, NAD’s President & CEO announced, “I want to thank John for his dedicated service to NAD and the lasting improvements he has contributed to LPIA. I am also pleased to advise that Vernice Walkine, Vice President of Marketing and Communications, will add the Commercial Development responsibilities to her portfolio, on an interim basis. The two disciplines dovetail well and will avoid any disruption of services to our stakeholders.”
