NASSAU, Bahamas – There were no pop quizzes, hallway lockers or stern principals in sight, but that didn’t stop a group of NUA Insurance Agency workers from slipping back into their old high school uniforms.

The agency recently held a customer service initiative at its Collins Avenue headquarters where its workers played dress up for the day.

The employees, who donned uniforms from St. Anne’s, GHS, Queens College, St. Augustine’s and Bahamas Academy to name a few, showed their school and company pride.

Supervisor of the Personal Lines Department, Shakaria Moxey, said the goal was to motivate NUA employees and encourage them to give the best service to their clients.

Ms. Moxey said she also wanted the workers to feel appreciated.

“Persons have to be happy about being at work if we want them to give excellent customer service. Then they have to feel appreciated. They have to feel motivated. So, we’re giving them things to be excited about,” she said.

Ms. Moxey says she hopes the company continues the trend in the future.

“It’s been wonderful, everyone’s excited. When I came in this morning they were laughing and talking about the rude girl status and this one who’s going to be sent to detention and I hope this is something that we can do on an annual basis,” she said.

She noted that NUA believes in taking the time to understand its customer’s personal requirements and meeting their needs.
