Nassau, Bahamas - The Board of Directors of the Nassau, Bahamas Council of the National Pan-Hellenic Council, Inc. is pleased to announce the induction of two outstanding members of the Bahamian Fraternal community who will be inducted into the Nassau, Bahamas Pan-Hellenic Council, Hall of Fame: The 2008 Inductee is: Mr. Frank ‘Pancho’ Rahming, member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and the 2009 Inductee is: Mrs. Sharon Wilson, member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.

The Nassau, Bahamas Pan-Hellenic Council established The Bahamas Greek Hall of Fame in 2004 under the presidency of Mrs. Cyndi Williams-Rahming. The purpose is to recognize outstandingmembers of the Fraternal Movement in The Bahamas.Individuals inducted into The Nassau, Bahamas Pan-Hellenic Council - Hall of Fame would have madevaluable contributions towards the fraternal movement and community development in the local community which had an impactinternationally.

The Nassau, Bahamas Pan-Hellenic Council – Greek Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held on Thursday, July 2nd, 2009 – 7pm, The Nassau Yacht Club, East Bay Street. The Ceremony is open to the general public.

2008 Hall of Fame Inductee:

Mr. Frank ‘Pancho’ Rahming, a charter member of the Bahamas Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., has spent his adult life helping young persons. Mr. Rahming who is a Life Member of the Fraternity and has been financial with the organization since his initiation in 1971. He is a certified coach who has spent countless hours early in the mornings and at evenings with young athletes and certainly at no cost to the athletes. He has been the National Track and Field Coach for The Bahamas for at least thirty (30) years. He has competed in Olympic Games representing The Bahamas and has attended the last nine Olympic Games, either in the capacity as an Athlete, Coach or Manager. Mr. Rahming is also active in his church, Mt. Carey Union Baptist Church, where he is the Choir Director. Mr. Rahming is married to Ernestine Rahming and is the father of two daughters.

2009 Hall of Fame Inductee:

Mrs. Sharon Wilson is a charter member of Theta Epsilon Zeta, the local Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Mrs. Wilson was one of the individuals instrumental in the chartering of the local chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. in 1976. She is a former Chapter President and has maintained active status throughout the years. Mrs. Wilson graduated with a Bachelor’s degree with Honours in 1971 from Florida Memorial University. She spent ten years as a teacher – five years at Jordan Prince Williams and five years at St. John’s College. She went on to achieve a Masters of Science Degree in 1979. She was admitted to the Bahamas Bar in 1983. During her 17 years as a Judge in The Bahamas, she was appointed as the Acting Chief Magistrate. She is also Past President of The Senate of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas. In January 2000, she began her private practice called Sharon Wilson & Co. Mrs. Wilson is an active member of St. Barnabas Anglican Church. She is a past President of Links. She is married to Business Franklyn Wilson and the mother of three.

The previous inductees in the Nassau, Bahamas Pan-Hellenic Council – Bahamas Greek Hall of Fame are: 2004 - Ricardo P. Deveaux (Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.), 2005 – William ‘Bill’ Wallace (Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.) and 2007 – Peter L. Mitchell (Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.)

In addition to the Bahamas Greek Hall of Fame Inductees, Fraternity and Sorority Members with Twenty-five (25) plus years in the respective organizations will be recognized. The Nassau, Bahamas Pan-Hellenic Council is dubbing this year’s event as “An Evening With Fraternal Legends in The Bahamas.”
