In celebration of the organization's fifth anniversary, a 'Friend-Raising' reception was held at 1er Cru in Nassau, Bahamas on Thursday, March 30, 2017 under the theme 'Eat, Drink and Be Giving'.

At the reception, attendees were educated on the work of the organization and invited to lend their support, either through charitable giving, volunteerism, or just spreading the word about the inroads being made by the foundation and its good work.  All proceeds pledged at the event were doubled through the generous offer from a primary donor.

About One Eleuthera Foundation

One Eleuthera Foundation is a Bahamian non-profit development organization established in 2012. Our flagship initiative is the Centre for Training & Innovation (CTI), which was brought to life in partnership with the South Eleuthera Mission.  The thrust of CTI's is to drive sustainability and innovation in an educational and training environment. CEO Shaun Ingraham shares "Many of our students are given a second chance and are being empowered through skills development, leadership, entrepreneurship and community development training."  "When people can see how the funds are being used, and the positive impact being made, it's a win-win for all." Most recently, we embarked upon the One Eleuthera Cooperative Credit Union (OECCU), which is growing quickly.

In addition to the projects that directly fall under our umbrella, that being CTI and OECCU, we also offer resources to other non-profit organizations and their programs. Mrs Florencia Hirt, Country Representative, The Bahamas, Inter-American Development Bank Group, remarked that OEF is a model for the region. We believe that this is a model that can be adapted by other non-profits within our country and be ultimately transformative for our communities, our economy and our people.

OEF is one of the fastest growing non-profit in the country.  Because of OEF's work, CEO Shaun Ingraham, now serves as a member of the committee advising the National Development Plan.  OEF is often cited by the Prime Minister of The Bahamas as a model for the NDP to follow. The Inter-American Development Bank recognizes OEF as a viable regional model for socioeconomic development. Shaun has been invited to share OEF's model throughout The Bahamas, Caribbean and the US. With sustained technical and financial support, the OEF model will not only continue to strengthen Eleuthera's island economy, but also spur social innovation in other Caribbean and Latin American settings.
