Press members bade farewell to Gina Morley

Nassau, The Bahamas – Members of the media paid final respects to former journalist and Attorney-at-Law, Gina Patrice Morley, 55, on Saturday, May 19, 2018.

The Rite of a Christian Burial for Gina was held at St. Anselm’s Roman Catholic Church on Bernard Road, Fox Hill. Officiating were Fr Noël Clarke and Reverend Ricardo Demeritte. Her body was interred at St Anselm’s Catholic Cemetery.

Gina began worked as a reporter at the Broadcasting Corporation of the Bahamas (ZNS) for a short while and then pursued Law – studying at Cave Hill in Barbados and then onto The Norman Manley Law School in Kingston, Jamaica. She was called to both The Bahamas Bar and Jamaican Bar Associations.

Gina was also a member of The Bahamas Press Club 2014. She was responsible for The 2017 Bahamas Press Club Media Awards’ theme: “Uncovering The Bahamas”, held at the British Colonial Hilton, at which she proudly displayed some of her creative artwork.

She hosted the genealogy programme “Bahamian Bio” on Sunday nights at 7pm, and the “It’s The Law” legal tips, which aired at various times during the weekday lineup on Guardian Radio 96.9FM.

Gina died on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the Princess Margaret Hospital. She is survived by her children – two daughters Mia and Makeda Serju and one son Duval Davis; her parents Beatrice and Cressel Morley step mother Eulamae Morley and a host of other relatives and friends.
