With a specific focus on community development, RBC Royal Bank recently announced its renewed partnership with Hands for Hunger (H4H), humanitarian organization, through the sponsorship of $10,000 to upcoming event, Paradise Plates.

Paradise Plates, to be held on October 3, 2015, is one of Hands for Hunger’s key annual fund raising initiatives, featuring gourmet food, wine, and cocktail tastings, live entertainment, a live and silent auction, and raffle. Chefs from top local restaurants will provide the best of their culinary treasures and signature creations to attendees.

According to Nathaniel Beneby Jr., Managing Director, RBC Royal Bank Bahamas, Cayman and Turks & Caicos Islands, RBC is dedicated to tangibly giving back to the communities in which we live and work. “We value opportunities to make a difference in the lives of others and congratulate the Hands for Hunger team for their remarkable programs that serve as a solution to the hunger epidemic in The Bahamas. We view this sponsorship as a contribution to the meaningful work being done,” said Mr. Beneby.

While a presenting sponsor for the past three consecutive years, RBC Royal Bank has supported Paradise Plates in various capacities, from its inception to present, over seven years.

"Paradise Plates aims to bring awareness to the surmountable issue of hunger in The Bahamas and to raise funds to fuel the work of Hands For Hunger. Throughout the organization's years of success, RBC Royal Bank has shared in our mission- through invaluable support of our programs and events. RBC's annual contributions help us get closer to achieving our vision of a hunger-free Bahamas where everyone has access to three nutritious and fortifying meals each day. We are truly grateful for RBC's continued partnership in joining the fight against hunger in our communities,” said Zeleka Knowles, Executive Director, H4H.

Hands for Hunger is committed to the elimination of unnecessary hunger and the reduction of food waste through the creation of meaningful and engaging partnerships formed amongst all sectors of the Bahamian community. Over the years, RBC in support of their vision has presented significant donations through H4H’s food rescue program and other initiatives including food distribution, education and innovative solutions aimed at achieving national food security.

Natasha Wright, Assistant Manager, RBC Royal Bank added that RBC is pleased to once again be a presenting sponsor for the 2015 Hands for Hunger Paradise Plates fundraiser. “This event illustrates RBC’s commitment to partnering with organizations such as Hands for Hunger, that make a difference in the community,” she said.
