“On behalf of the leaders and employees at RBC Royal Bank, we congratulate the coordinators of the 11th annual Research Day of The University of the West Indies Bahamas, (School of Clinical Medicine and Research). The theme, Weight Challenges in The Bahamas- Are we the Biggest Losers? is an important and relevant one. We commend you for this focus as a nation can only be as healthy as its citizens. I hope that we can begin to see a decline in obesity and non-communicable diseases through your research and also through healthier eating and lifestyle. This is a powerful theme that resonates with households, and businesses alike,” Lasonya Missick, RBC Area Vice President, said at the opening ceremony.

Mrs. Missick further noted, “We are confident that this partnership between RBC and UWI will continue to make a significant contribution to this country's education and medical industry.  UWI has a philosophy of engaging with the communities and regions in which it operates to ensure that its research, teaching and consulting activities are relevant to the development objectives of the host country. RBC is fully in synch with this philosophy,” added.
