With the children’s home reporting a decrease in Christmas donations, Nassau-based engineering firm Reiss Engineering Ltd. donates $5,000 to the only privately-run home for children in need on the island.

Nassau, Bahamas – 5 February 2016 – The Ranfurly Homes for Children received a $5,000 donation from Reiss Engineering Ltd. to help fund the many needs of the non-charitable home for needy children.

The Ranfurly Homes for Children has been a safe haven for thousands of Bahamian children since 1956. The Home provides a safe, structured environment for children who have been orphaned, abused, neglected or abandoned.

Alexander Roberts, the Ranfurly Homes Director, recently reported that donations in 2015 were worse than previous years. In addition, officials of the Ranfurly Homes reported a “mass decrease” in Christmas donations.

“As a Bahamian-owned engineering firm, Reiss is committed to giving back to the community,” said Reiss President, Robert Reiss. “We are honored to give this donation to the Ranfurly Homes for Children, and hope this helps make 2016 a better year for the local children that are less fortunate,” noted Reiss.
