Nassau, The Bahamas – Scotiabankers collectively donated one thousand dollars ($1,000) to the Providing Access to Continued Education (PACE) programme as part of local International Women’s Day celebrations recently. Scotiabank (Bahamas) Ltd.’s Advancement of Women (AoW) Committee spearheaded the charitable effort as one of a few women-centered initiatives involving staff during the month.
Scotiabank’s local AoW Committee is comprised of the Bank's leading women collectively working to address the challenges women face and celebrate the successes of women in the workplace. AoW functions as a sub-committee of Scotiabank’s Advancement of You (AoY) group.
As a global organization where women make up more than 70% of its employee base, Scotiabank is keenly interested in women’s issues. The bank supports women here in The Bahamas and around the globe in reaching their full potential and building a bright future. Scotiabank strives to be a recognized leader in the advancement of women and a destination workplace for women seeking careers in the financial industry.
The PACE programme aims to ensure that the young ladies enrolled become responsible mothers, positively contributing to society. PACE Principal, Jacqueline Knowles, thanked Scotiabank for its donation which, she said, would assist with the everyday needs of the students.
