Nassau, The Bahamas - Scotiabank aims to support initiatives that help young people reach their full potential. Today the Bank announced the start of year three of its formal $50,000 partnership agreement with the Royal Bahamas Police Force.

In 2015, Scotiabank signed a multi-year partnership agreement with the Police to support its Summer Youth Camps, formalizing its longstanding partnership with the Force after years of supporting several divisional groupings.

“We are proud of our long legacy of supporting the communities where we live and work,” said Robert Pantry, Director, Retail Banking, Northern Caribbean, Scotiabank. “The Police Camps provide fun, safe, and wholesome activities for children during the summer months when schools are closed. The Police ought to be commended on the exceptional job they continue to do in this regard, keeping these kids engaged once school closes.”

“The Royal Bahamas Police Force is eternally thankful to Scotiabank for its partnership. This is a positive shot in the arm for our young people who are often castigated,” said Stephen Dean, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police. “This celebrates the good in our youth and helps bring out the innate talents of our future leaders who could have, ordinarily, been involved in crime and anti-social behaviours.”

In addition to the 10,000 installment that was formally presented today, Scotiabank employee volunteers will visit various police camps throughout the summer to provide financial literacy training, serve lunch and distribute treats consistent with prior years.

“We are proud to launch the continuation of this notable partnership and look forward to a positive working relationship with the Royal Bahamas Police Force for years to come,” Pantry concluded.
