Museums in Education Discussed in The Bahamas

Nassau, Bahamas - Ms. Catherine Cole, the Secretary General for the Commonwealth Association of Museums (CAM) and Mrs. Kim Outten-Stubbs the Chief Curator at the Antiquities, Monuments and Museums Corporation (AMMC) paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Education, Science and Technology, the Honourable Jerome Fitzgerald.

Discussions were held concerning the three educational roles of museums in education. These roles are to have curriculum-based education for students throughout the school system in The Bahamas, informal education for adults and families, and professional development opportunities for people working in museums.

Mrs. Outten-Stubbs also stressed the importance of having the roles of museums highlighted during the upcoming Caribbean Conference for Education Ministers to be held in The Bahamas in June 2015.
