Freeport, Grand Bahama Island - Mackey Media Ltd's Still Standing After The Storm Hurricane Relief Concert  and Food Drive at Port Lucaya on Friday Nov 25, 2016 drew a large cross section of community support by local residents seeking to assist the Salvation Army and Red Cross feeding programs while enjoying a vibrant showcase of local talent.

From acoustic guitarists performing melodic soul and pop music to Bahamas International Mass Choir's Rake n scrape gospel to dramatic Dance numbers by Georgia's Dance Theater and Bahamas Dance Theater to an original poem recited by Miss Grand Bahama (Tiasha Lewis) to classical violin and guitar to sultry Saxophone and Piano to R&B and pop hits of today and yesteryear by the Uppercut band to Tony Lowe and friends composition 'We Rise' on into Roachie's Champions Overcome, the audience received their canned and bagged food's worth and more! Joseph Darville and his co-hosts keep the flow going throughout the night whilst providing encouraging words. The night was topped off with the unveiling of an original triptych art piece by Steffon Grant that was painted specifically for the Still Standing After the Storm event.

Aside from presenting a successful Hurricane Relief Concert and Food Drive with a great selection local of bands, singers, dancers and an artist, a large cash donation was made to The Salvation Army via Erika Gates.

Some of the names of the persons who made this event such a success were; David Mackey the program coordinator, Violinist Afrika Karamo-Miller, vocalists Tony Lowe & Friends, Bahamas International Mass Choir, Jullion Collie, Georgia Taylor, Co-host Brooke Grant, Co-host Joseph Darville, Vocalist Clinton A Outten, Co-host Yolanda Hanna, Shaquita Stubbs, Guitarist Steve Persaud & vocalist Derek Gape, Glenn Davis & Miss Grand Bahama, Robbin Whachell, Tomii Culmer, Vanessa Clarke, Doranell Tiffany Hanna Brown, Shelley Carey-Moxey, Gina Noporkonmyfork Ward, Bonzi Ferguson, Javan Hunt, Guitarist & Vocalist Ryan Carroll , Artist Steffon A. Grant, Drummer David Williams, Saxophonist Frank Hagan, Paula Boyd Farrington & Greg Farrington of Freeport Advertising. Still Standing After the Storm generated so much food that the Salvation Army and Red Cross reps asked; 'How do we get all this food out of here?' Many thanks to the security at Port Lucaya who got a large Wheelbarrow and pushed several loads of food to the vehicles.

Mr. Mackey explained that the idea for the event came about from his experience working on a television ad campaign for KFC and Pizza Hut's Add Hope and Deliver Hope campaigns. "I spent 2 days at and with the the Grand Bahama Red Cross both in their branch facility and on the road as they made deliveries of KFC chicken meals to needy recipients far and wide (Thursdays are KFC days). To see the look on the faces of those receiving meals that they lacked the means to get for themselves was beyond heartwarming. Hence, I was inspired to devise a means of support that those who could not write big checks could contribute towards stocking the empty pantries of the GB Red Cross and the Salvation Army (also assists with feeding hungry persons on the island) within their means." It is important to note that all participants in this event volunteered willingly towards the cause of feeding the hungry, no one received cash for their efforts but all continue to receive blessings.
