The Bahamas Weekly is pleased to announced that we are beginning our 3rd Year of running FREE Summer Camp Listings for ANYONE/ANYWHERE in The Bahamas!

Summer is a time for children, and we want to ensure your children have a great summer. As a community service, The Bahamas Weekly allows anyone running a Summer Camp in The Bahamas to list all their information about their camp viewable to hundreds of thousands each month for FREE.

GRAND BAHAMA ISLAND:

June 16 to August 7: Camp Arawaks Summer Camp – Don’t miss the fun this summer. Open to ages 3 to 12, and weekdays from 9 to 5pm. Programmes with qualified instructors in swimming, gymnastics, dance, arts and crafts, cheerleading and more. Daily rate: $35.00; weekly rate, $125.00, hot lunch included. June 23 - 27: 2008 Premier League GBI Summer Soccer Camp, at the Freeport Football Rugby Club. 9am to 3pm daily. Professional visiting and local coaches put on the 5th annual camp teaching fundamentals and skill development. $175 per child and includes two (2) soccer uniforms, all lunches, water, and snacks. Jun 23-28: NFL JPD Football Camp, GB Sports Complex. Facilitated by Bahamian Bahamas Youth Football coaches and players.  As part of the empowerment program model of BYF, this is quite an accomplishment, especially for the coaches. June 23 - 27: 23rd Annual Softly Robins Basketball Camp, Jack Hayward Gymnasium, 8:30am to 1:00pm daily. Boys and girls 7 - 17 years. FREE

June 23 - Aug 18: Ms. D's Summer Fun Program - Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm. Ages 6 to 11 years. Lucaya International School, Chesepeake Drive.  Summer Skills Program: interactive learning, swimming, drama, musical activities, sports, baking, games and field trips. June 30 - July 12: Regency Arts Theatre School (RATS) - 10 to 16 year olds. Only 36 places - first come, first served. Intense acting and theatre school culminating in two performances. More information HERE 

June 30 - July 25: The City of Freeport District Council 11th Annual Camp -caters to some 600 children at three camp sites: Susan J. Wallace Community Centre, Walter Parker Primary School and St. Georges' High School. 5 - 14 years.  9:00am - 1:00pm Activities: computer, arts & craft, sewing, etiquette, basketball, volleyball, tennis, swimming, academics (math & english) and lots more.  FREE. Registration forms may be picked up from the Council's Office # 17 Pioneer's Professional Plaza, Pioneer's Way.

July 7 - August 15: Summer Sailing Camp, Grand Bahama Sailing Club. 8 to 15 years. Expanded fleet of 22 boats. Three 2-week programs: July 7-18, July 21 - August 1, August 4 - 15. Aug 6 – 9: Young Life’s Summer Kamp Paradise 2008, High Rock.
Grades 9 – 12. $200 each and covers the cost of transportation to and from High Rock all the exciting events, your hotel lodging, and your meals at camp for four days. $25 asap to reserve your spot. Dominate on the beach volleyball courts. Relax while kayaking.   Scream as you ride on the banana boat. Catch as many fish as you can for the real ‘Down Home Fish Fry.’ Experience Huge Young Life Clubs and real-life cabin discussions…all at the beautiful   Ocean Peal Resort in High Rock. NEW PROVIDENCE:

 

June 23 –July 12: All-Star Sports Science Camp. All-Star Family Centre, 5 to 11 years. $225 for three weeks. The camp works on two levels, the theoretical and the practical. Students learn about nutrition, anatomy and mental strategies. They also learn how to jump higher, run faster and move with more agility. This camp is designed after the Olympic Training Centers in the United States. Activities include chess, Judo, soccer, swimming and dodge ball, among others. The camp will be held at YWCA dolphin drive and All-Star Family Centre Joe Farrington Road. 8-30 am – 3:00 pm Monday through Thursday and 8:30 – 1 pm on Fridays. June 23 – July 25: Little Campers, Palmdale Primary School. Our program offers preschoolers their first taste of 'camp' within a nurturing and well structured environment.  Designed especially with young children in mind, this camp is brimming with games, crafts, stories, sing-alongs, and special themes.  Your child will love each day activities, and you will be delighted to see their creativity and social skills blossom.  Children must be 3 years old and toilet trained at the start of the program. Ages: 3-6 years old. 8:30 am - 2:30pm. Registration fee: $15 per/child (non-refundable). Daily Fee: $15/child. Weekly fee: $60 (including all holidays). June 30 - August 1: Sea Waves Aquatic Team Camp - South Beach Pools, (at the end of East Street South , turn left through the gates and drive until you see the pools). We offer classes for all ages:1) baby swim from 6 to 24 months, 2) tots from 2 to 3 years old,  3) children's learn to swim from 3 up, 4) adult learn to swim and stroke improvement/ fitness, 5)aqua aerobics,  6) competitive swimming. This week is all about getting to know the special animals we call marine mammals.  Kids will focus on art projects, games and animal interactions that teach them about our ocean friends.   Monday to Friday, 8:30am—4:30pm, Ages 4-8, $150.00/wk per child.


June 30 – July 4   &   August 4 – 8: Marine Mammal Mania,    Dolphin Encounters - Dolphins & Sea Lions, Marine Activities, Games & Crafts, Lunch & Snacks, and Swimming! It’s all about the pranksters of the ocean…dolphins, sea lions and other cool marine mammals.  This week is jammed full of new animals and cool activities, including meeting a dolphin!  Monday to Friday, 8:30am—4:30pm, Ages 9-14. $150.00/wk per child  

 

July 7 – 11   &   August 1115: Under Da’ Sea,  Dolphin Encounters - Dolphins & Sea Lions, Marine Activities, Games & Crafts, Lunch & Snacks, and Swimming! Fishes, starfish and sharks! Kids will discover some of the unique traits that make ocean animals special.  Week is full of beach exploration, arts & crafts and fun times that make ocean animals come alive. Monday to Friday, 8:30am—4:30pm, Ages 4-8. $150.00/wk per child


July 7 – 11    &    August 11 – 15: Aqua Explorers,  Dolphin Encounters  - Dolphins & Sea Lions, Marine Activities, Games & Crafts, Lunch & Snacks, and Swimming! Join us for an amazing look at the creatures that make their home in the world’s coral reefs.   For this adventure, we even get face to face with some of our ocean friends while snorkeling in our pristine lagoon! Monday to Friday, 8:30am—4:30pm, Ages 9-14. $150.00/wk per child

July 14 – July 18    & Aug 18 – 22: No Bones About It!:  Dolphin Encounters - Dolphins & Sea Lions, Marine Activities, Games & Crafts, Lunch & Snacks, and Swimming! Lobsters, jellyfish, starfish and more all    have one thing in common… no bones!  We will explore the world of the spineless on the rocky shores and on a snorkeling exploration. July 28 – August 1: Animal Antics,  Dolphin Encounters -
Dolphins & Sea Lions, Marine Activities, Games & Crafts, Lunch & Snacks, and Swimming!   Why do animals play hide-and-seek? Learn how animals find the best hiding places and explore animal camouflage as you check out all the ways whales, sharks, fish, dolphins and penguins blend in with their surroundings. Monday to Friday, 8:30am—4:30pm, Ages 4-8. $150.00/wk per child.

July 28 – August 1: Conservation Patrol,  Dolphin Encounters - Dolphins & Sea Lions, Marine Activities, Games & Crafts, Lunch & Snacks, and Swimming! A habitat is where it’s at!  Discover a new habitat and the animals that live there.  For a special treat, we will go on a creature safari in search of the cool inhabitants of Blue Lagoon Island! August 11 - 15: BREEF's Marine Summer Camp, Ardastra Gardens, 9am to 3pm. 8 to 13 years. $100 and limited to 30 campers. Reserve NOW.


ELEUTHERA:

June 16 - July 4: Third Annual Bahamas Out-Island Adventures Surf Camp - Three one-week sessions beginning June 16, June 23 and June 30. Surf instruction, kayak, snorkel, caving & more. Youth Camp (Under-18) is first week. Last two weeks are all-age. Day and overnight rates are available. Based at Surfer's Beach with accommodation at Surfer's Haven and Surfer's Beach Manor. ABACO

July 4 - 11: Abaco Foundation's Annual Summer School and Band Camp - provides young people with an interest in music the opportunity to interact with others of like mind and with skilled musicians, foster the development of their skills, and create an appreciation of cultural expressions of The Bahamas. Also includes devotions, Spanish, music instruction (practical & theory), tennis, recreational activities, and public performance by the combined band.  Campers can either stay for 8 days and nights, or attend day camp. July 14 - August 11: Friends Environmental Summer Camp, Marsh Harbour, Cooper's Town, and Sandy Point locations. Campers (ages 7 - 9) enjoy interactive classroom lessons with environmental topics, then venture into the great outdoors for a field trip that re-emphasizes the classroom topic. Focuses on Bahamian Biodiversity; important local habitats such as mangrove creeks, coral reefs and pine forests; Conservation and Recycling. The camp teaches skills and provides opportunities for Bahamian youth that may not already be available to them: snorkeling, birdwatching, kayaking and camping to name a few.
