Watch the last ever music video from Aaliyah, filmed on and around Abaco, The Bahamas and Miami, Florida.

At the age of 22 Aaliyah was on top of the world. With Grammy and Oscar nominations already under her belt, the platinum-selling singer and actress had a bright future - a future cut short by a tragic plane crash in The Bahamas on Saturday, August 25.

Aaliyah was in The Bahamas shooting a video. She died instantly when the plane exploded on impact just 200 feet beyond the end of a runway at Marsh Harbour International Airport on Abaco Island at 6:45 p.m. The craft, which was bound for Opa-Locka Airport, just northwest of Miami, apparently suffered engine failure upon liftoff.

Aaliyah Dana Haughton  (January 16, 1979 – August 25, 2001), better known as Aaliyah  was an American singer, dancer, actress, model, teen idol, and also one of the first internationally known teen icons. Introduced to audiences by R&B/pop singer R. Kelly, Aaliyah became famous during the mid-1990s with several hit records from the songwriting/production team of Missy Elliott and Timbaland.

Despite her short career, she sold approximately over 32 million albums worldwide. In addition to her commercial success, her collaborations with Timbaland helped shape the sound of R&B in the latter half of the 1990s. She also modeled for Tommy Hilfiger and starred in two motion pictures before being killed in a plane crash in the Bahamas.  Following her death, singles like "Rock the Boat" and "Miss You" became Billboard hits.

Although Aaliyah's official website and webstore were closed in May 2008, persons can still donate to the charities she herself supported through the The Aaliyah Memorial Fund.
