Freeport, Bahamas - Blues and Folk Rock recording artist, Adam Karch played to an appreciative audience at Rooster's Sports Bar in Grand Bahama Island on August 13th. He gave a soulful performance at the outdoor venue despite the hot and humid Bahamian summer evening.

Karch, a native of Montreal, Canada performed several sets to patrons who sat comfortably in couches in VIP concert-style while listening to the entertainers masterful guitar-playing skills.

Adam Karch happens to be the cousin of the owner of Rooster's, John Hynes and released his new solo album, Cotton Fields earlier this year. He has been on tour in eastern Canada and plays next at the
Koisque Édwin Bélanger in Quebec on August 18th.

While visiting local radio stations in Freeport prior to the concert in Grand Bahama, Karch shared his inspiration behind the new album,
Cotton Fields is a tribute to the long walk taken by so many African Americans on the road from slavery to freedom.  I've dedicated the album to the heroine Harriet Tubman who escaped slavery and became a freedom fighter for the rights of black people. "

Cotton Fields, is said to be an album "alive with acoustic energy and steeped in musical maturity with an innate sense of melody that is characteristically Karch. It runs the gamut of the blues, beginning with selections from the 1930s, all the while bringing a modern sensibility to the classic compositions."

The audience got an extra treat when Jonathan Roy, long-time friend and fellow Canadian recording artist sang a few songs with Karch. The two often tour together and both visited The  Bahamas a couple years ago to film a music video for Roy that they both were featured in.

Next up at Rooster's is the legendary Jay Mitchell of The Bahamas on Friday, August 12th. Visit the Rooster's Facebook page
