Freeport, Bahamas - As Grand Bahama Island gears up for Alan Doyle and The Beautiful Gypsies live concert at the Regency Theatre March 24th, David Mackey, committee member of Grand Bahama Performing Art's Society was able to connect with Alan Doyle minutes before he hit the stage for his Hoover Alabama concert with Beautiful Gypsies. In this audio interview Alan expresses his enthusiasm to return to Grand Bahama Island for his first ever concert in Freeport. We apologize that the clarity of the interview is not the best due to telephone connectivity issues but there's a lot of interesting background information on Alan, his amazing years with Great Big Sea, his exciting new solo career, his fond memories of Grand Bahama Island and his excitement to return and perform in Freeport.

This concert has been made possible through the generosity of Brendan Paddick and Renee Vedd-Paddick who made the arrangements and donated the costs to bring Alan Doyle and The Beautiful Gypsies performance to Grand Bahama for the many beneficiaries of the Society.

The Grand Bahama Performing Arts Society exists to provide opportunities and scholarships for performing arts schools and students on Grand Bahama. Tickets are $35 each and can be purchased in Grand Bahama at the Seventeen Shop downtown Freeport (across from the post office) and at Mackey Media Ltd at Grand Lucayan directly across from Treasure Bay Casino. Advance ticket purchases can also be made through PayPal by emailing gbperform@gmail.com (a $5 processing fee will be applied).

The news of the Grand Bahama Performing Art's Society's Alan Doyle March 24th concert at the Regency theater in Freeport has generated such excitement that Sunwing Airlines out of Canada has created three and seven day travel packages to Grand Bahama from Toronto and Ottawa.
