Hailing form the beautiful islands of The Bahamas... Alexis is one of the most talented rising stars to ever come out of the "242". This Grand Bahama beauty has been seen and heard on our radios and televisions for almost 10 years.

Writing her first song at the tender age of 9, and having her first national radio airplay at 16, Alexis Pelacanos is just one step away from being a world wide superstar with her talent, beauty, creativity and pure drive that exudes from her and everything she does.

Singer, songwriter, award winning actress, radio host, dancer, designer, and a hard working new mother... she does it all, and with a personality that one cannot help but love.

Her first album Journey was a huge success that included four hot singles that all received both national AND international airplay. TheBahamasWeekly.com is pleased to present  her first video release since her hit song "Goodbye" this very day three years ago!

Enjoy "I Want U"!

"I Want U is about falling in love with someone you can't have for whatever reason," Alexis tells The Bahamas Weekly. "Sometimes things happen and children, careers, businesses are involved... the years and time you spend with a person only to never TRULY be, or maybe even fall out of love...Then a person comes along that you INSTANTLY click with... that seems to be your soul mate... and it's not that easy or simple to just forget what you have, and be with them. So you would rather have a piece of them, than nothing at all..."

"I Want U" was written by Alexis and produced by Ramont "Monty G" Greene and Ashanti "Qilla Fang" Carey. The music video was directed by Alexis and was shot i n Grand Bahama by Free City TV. Also featured on the single is guest rapper,
Cheddah Bucks.

When asked how her career is adapting with motherhood, "As a young mother, my daughter Lyriq is like my mini-me lol, she sings with emotions, dances on beat, and even plays around on my piano... and she's only two! She inspires me SO much more... no matter what... I want to continue to do this..."

When asked about her music in general she said, "It inspires me to hear people say it feels like I was singing to them... Because a lot of us share the same emotions when it comes to life and love... and music can be so soothing. It's such a great outlet! "

"I just need that ONE chance for that ONE person and hopefully this year is my year!" said the committed songstress.
