Nassau, New Providence - Domino’s Bahamas is serving up big laughs with the launch of its new Cheesy Weddings marketing campaign. The company released the ‘boy meets girl’ romantic tale on Valentine’s Day. It features an all-Bahamian cast and crew including popular online comedian Timico “Sawyer Boy” Sawyer and recording artist Jonny Cake.

“Our entire focus for the campaign was to use Bahamian humor to tell a love story. The commercial outlines how a couple met while ordering pizza and eventually fell in love,” explained Domino’s Brand Manager Shirlen Godet who created the concept and wrote the humorous script.

“We shot the video in three parts with flashback scenes. We wanted the commercial to engage viewers from the start and so we used the talents of social media influencer Sawyer Boy. He has a strong presence online and this helped to connect viewers to the footage and to the script immediately.”

Lavado Stubbs of Conch Boy Films directed the Bahamian cast and crew of 50.  “I’m honored to produce and direct another commercial for Domino’s Pizza Bahamas. They approached me with this amazing concept and trusted me to bring it to life. One of the things that was key for me was to showcase what Bahamian actors can do,” Stubbs said.

The commercial culminates with the couple celebrating their new life together at the ultimate pizza wedding reception. And just like the brand, best man Sawyer Boy delivers on the laughs in a custom-made pizza themed tuxedo created by local fashion designer Kedar In Style. Classic Formal Wear supplied the bride and groom’s attire and British Colonial Hilton offered space to shoot several scenes from the commercial.

In less than two weeks of the video’s online launch, Cheesy Weddings has reached more than 80,000 Facebook users and has been shared over 450 times from the Domino’s Bahamas Facebook platform. The campaign was also launched on traditional television outlets for maximum exposure.
