Nassau, Bahamas - On Saturday November 5th from 12:00 - 4:00pm, the last of two Casting Sessions will be held for the mid-length film "Intervention."  The film which will be directed by writer/director Antonio K. Coakley, is a dramatic story about a man named SAMMY, who finds himself at a crossroads in his life. Unable to successfully provide a good life for his family, he desperately devises a sinister but deadly plan to get out of his financial crisis, and to ensure that his family has the life that they deserve.

The film is being produced by the Bahamas Independent Filmmakers Group which has been in existence for slightly more than 10 years. The film group has already produced, premiered and released three (3) films.

The first film "Full Circle: Food For Thought," written by Moya Thompson, premiered at Galleria West. The film that starred Ricardo Forbes, Selina Archer and Ryan Albury, was about a cheating husband who wanted to have his cake and eat it too until he was faced with the possibility that two (or three) can play that same game. The 17 minute short was featured as a part of Celi Moss' Bahamas Film Festival's "Ladies' Night: dATribute to Vivica Watkins" in 2010. The film went onto win the award that night for Best Film.

The second film "Changes ", featuring stage veterans Rudy Levarity and Jovanna Hepburn along with Valentino Burrows and Matthew Wildgoose, was written by Andrew Coakley based on a story by Andrew's twin brother -Director Antonio Coakley. This story was about a young college student (played brilliantly by Valentino Burrows) who decided to do a Sociology project on the homeless man that hangs around restaurants near the college campus. The young man begins to realize how easy it is to become homeless and believes that the homeless man is just like anyone else. He would later learn a dark secret -that he has more in common with this man than he could have ever imagined.

"Missing Maggie " the most recent film to come from the group, premiered in 2012. The film featured Val Maura and Tyrone Burrows in leading roles. It was about the developing friendship/mentorship between an elderly small-businessman Mr. Tamberly, and a young professional Ricky - who is contemplating marriage. However when Mr. Tamberly's wife of 42 years suddenly passes away, he grapples with how to go on but slowly finds encouragement and support through the help of the young Ricky.

These films have all enjoyed premieres at Galleria Cinemas, and have gone on to air on numerous occasions on ZNS TV-13. The director hopes to see this film go even further, with possible entry into local and international film festivals.
