In 2017, The Bahamas will host the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, and the promotional video was produced by Charles Smith, a Bahamian filmmaker residing in the USA. Smith is more recently known for his film, When Pigs Swim.

"We shot this on 4 different beaches around Nassau to portray a beach in Africa, Asia, Australia and of course the Bahamas," Smith told The Bahamas Weekly.  "A beach in Miami portrayed South America and the last shot in Espinoza, Portugal is the actual FIFA 2015 Beach Soccer World Cup Stadium."

Superstar beach soccer player, Madjer, captain of the Portugal team and MVP for the World Cup is also featured in the promo. "Portugal also won the World Cup this year," said Smith, "so we got lucky and had the best beach soccer player in the world kick the ball to us in The Bahamas."

"I wrote the script to show kids from all over the world playing beach soccer and kicking it from one to the other in their different countries all the way to the official World Cup in Portugal, and then Madjer kicks the ball across the ocean reaching different Bahamian landmarks to our official beach soccer stadium for the World Cup in 2017."

The Bahamian beach soccer team makes an appearance and talented Bahamian kids kick the ball around ending with a skillful 'bicycle kick' into the goal.

"The Bahamian kids were awesome as we did take after take and the young player kept getting into the goal each time."

The video was aired in Portugal during this year's Beach Soccer World Cup, showing that the ball was being 'kicked ' from Portugal to The Bahamas signaling the transition.

"I want to thank all of the kids that came out and did such a wonderful job," said Smith, "and also Anton Sealy, Fred Lunn and Jason McDowell for believing that a Bahamian could direct such an important video and get it approved by FIFA."  Watch the PROMO on Youtube HERE.
