Freeport, Grand Bahama - “Class Act”, the greatly anticipated upcoming concert by the Lois Seiler Academy of Dance has a little bit of everything to satisfy both young and old tastes in the Performing Arts! Celebrating 46 years of excellence and creativity, Lois and her dancers do it again.

“All Lois Seiler’s shows are Class Acts” - Ivy Eldon – popular theatrical producer and performer of the Freeport Players Guild.

“The long hard hours put into these productions is all well worth it when the final outcome brings such joy and excitement to both students and audience alike, leaving me a great sense of accomplishment.” - Lois Seiler

The exciting and fast moving performances begins with “Invitation To Dance”. It’s a delightful tale of a young ballerina who reluctantly shares an invitation to a dance with all of her classmates. It’s charmingly choreographed to the beautifully composed music of Johann Strauss.

Next, adorable three to six year olds interpret the theme from the hit movie “Frozen”. At this young and tender age, a few unexpected surprises just may occur. We look forward to it.

“Mazurka”, a hearty mid- European character ballet to the music of Delibes from the famous ballet Coppelia adds a bit of International flavor.

Freeport’s superb vocalist Terrelle Tynes Wilson brings a taste of the islands, singing the taunting “Mama Roll” and is backed by three gyrating beauties. The Bahamian “ting” will be welcome and refreshing.

Music by Duke Ellington and George Gershwin propels the tap, tap, tapping of the beginners tap class. It’s amazing to realize that some of these youngsters have been studying for such a short time entitled “String Of Pearls”.

A bit of a sermon preached by Luckner Timothy keeps an all female-congregation in line, as they learn to “Accentuate the Positive.”

Hoorah! The little ones are back as petit prancing jockeys. They will keep you on the edge of your seats never knowing what just might transpire in “Giddyap”!

“Caribbean Blue” will fill you with wonder as these young 6 to 9 year olds express their talents to the haunting ambient music of Enya.

At the end of Act 1, you will be treated to the foot stomping and hand clapping of a fiery Latin number by Pit Bull entitled “FireBall”.

When the curtain opens for Act 2, you will be pleased and astonished to view eighteen young and scrumptious bites of candy ready to tempt your sweet tooth. Mints, Cotton Candy, and Marshmallows are Tutu Sweet. Delicious and yummy!

The popular Hip Hop Artists known as X- Clusi-V – Crew satisfy high expectations, with two knock out pieces: “Manolo” and Time For Love”. Joe Dames has choreographed a fun filled number “Super Mario Party Dubstep” for his young Hip Hop students.

In “Dothraki” we are treated to fine beautiful young ladies looking elegant and gracefully expressing themselves to the music from the popular “Game of Thrones”.

“Look out”! Here comes Christian, Ambrose, and Megan, a real triple threat. Are they up for the challenge and ready to pull you into the beat? You bet they are!

Deltin Sejour is surprisingly back here on the island after studying at an intensive Modern Dance College in Canada. We are lucky to behold all his hard work here now with his artistically choreographed piece “Say You Will”.

In honor of the legendary Bill Robinson, Tony Lowe will bring a tear to your eye if you know of or happen to remember “Mr. Bojangles”.

The Thursday jazz class will get your body in sync with their rendition of “Uptown Funk”. Just try and sit still for this one.

The final piece in this extravaganza, will reveal a kaleidoscope of color, sound and themes entitled Castenedas. A tricky combination of Classical Ballet and Bollywood.

If this peeks your curiosity and interest, if you want to see some amazing costumes, talented performers and wonderful music of every genre, be sure to catch “CLASS ACT”__ You will be thoroughly entertained!

Performances are on Saturday June 13that 7:30 pm and on Sunday, June 14th at 4 pm at Regency Theater. Tickets are now on sale at the GB Fitness Center and Animale in the Port Lucaya Marketplace.
