Freeport, Grand Bahama – Was in stitches over the weekend as “Election 2007” opened with rave reviews.
Despite everything that was happening all over Grand Bahama, it definitely did not seem to have too much of an effect on the attendance of the new Michael Pintard and David Wallace comedy show; Election 2007 Count It Again Man Count It Again.
The political comedy play was held for three nights beginning October 25th at the Bishop Michael Eldon Auditorium (formerly Freeport High School),
the Gala Night also had part proceeds benefiting the Pilot’s Club.
The cast of the show certainly pulled out all of the stops as they performed each scene and had the audience laughing ‘til they cried.
From drunk voters to impersonations to arguing MP’s, this show had it all and then some.
Scenes such as at the Rally where David Wallace impersonated Prime Minister Ingraham and Wil Stubbs as opposition leader Perry Christie would have you out of your seat and on the floor laughing.

The audience laughs as they watch Election 2007: Count It Again Man, Count It Again held at the Bishop Michael Eldon Auditorium last weekend. The political comedy attracted a huge audience each night and was written by Michael Pintard and David Wallace.

David Wallace said “I would have to say that my favorite scene is the Campaigning in West End scene where I am speaking with a constituent who claims that she is going to vote for me and that she has an “FNM poch” and the other man could not come on her porch but when Obie Wilchcombe, who was portrayed by Wil Stubbs, came by the same lady’s house she then claims to be with Obie and thanks him for sending her the sodas and that her porch was for him and that the other man could not come on her porch stating that she wanted an MP not an MC”.
Mr. Wallace also continued on to say that “the intent of the show was to help to start with the healing of what was such a venomous election for The Bahamas and felt that being able to laugh at the situation as well as ourselves is a good way to do just that”.
Patrice Johnson who was apart of this great cast and of course no stranger to the stage, gave a great performance as she played a number of roles from a school child on the playground to a PLP supporter.
Johnson who was also apart of the original show called “Election 2002”
was very excited to be back again and be apart of “Election 2007”.
“We really wanted to do a show that would help people get over their hurdles through laughter” said Johnson.

The show also had a few cameo appearances by Tawari Rodgers, Rudy Stubbs, Timothy Williams and an Anna Nicole Look-A-Like.
The surprises just kept on coming and the fun never stopped.
All in all the show proved to be a great success totaling over fifteen hundred people in attendance over the course of the entire weekend.
The show certainly proved to be very fun and entertaining and presented outstandingly by a very dynamic cast.
If you however happen to be one of those persons that missed the show, it shall be returning to Grand Bahama for one night in November.
The show plans to continue onto New Providence on November 9th thru 10th, scheduled to be held at the Rain Forest Theatre.
The show will then continue on to Abaco and Turks & Caicos and other venues to be announced at a later date.

MP for Pineridge, Kwasi Thompson, his wife and former senator Dr. Marcus Bethel and his wife enjoy a laugh along with the rest of the audience at the Gala performance of Election 2007: Count It Again Man, Count It Again held at the Bishop Michael Eldon Auditorium, Thursday 25th. This political comedy made fun of both sides of the political spectrum and will soon be seen in Nassau November 9th & 10th. (Photo courtesy of Derek Carroll Photography)
