Prince Lewis Projects, Port Lucaya Marketplace, The Grand Bahama Entertainment, Musicians, Artists Association (GBEMAA), Alfred Anderson Photography, TheBahamasWeekly.com and The Kiwanis Club of Freeport have all teamed up to host mega concert/relief benefit for the islands effected Hurricane Joaquin earlier this month.

The effort, titled, Sounds for Southern Bahamas is spearheaded by film producer and vice president of GBEMAA, Nathaniel Prince Lewis, is officially scheduled for Saturday October, 24th, 2015 and will feature many of Grand Bahama’s leading entertainers including Tony Lowe, Papa Smurf, Alexis, Terrelle Tynes Wilson, Georgina Ward-Rigby, representatives of the Grand Bahama Youth Choir, The Bahamas Dance Theatre, The Royal Bahamas Police Force Pop Band and many others.

Commenting on the effort Lewis said, “As we all continue to do our parts in the relief and rebuilding efforts, it was important for the entertainment community of Grand Bahama to come together to lend our support in this time of need. My eyes and heart are full as I look at the photos and videos of utter devastation and I know that we had to use our talents somehow to give back. I’m particularly concerned about the small children who currently have to go back to school with no supplies. Without an education, there can be no art, and it’s up to us as artists, to step up and bring relief.”

The concert is free for the entire public and will be held at Count Basie Square in Port Lucaya.  Patrons are asked to donate canned goods, non-perishable food, school books, backpacks, pens, pencils, crayons, geometry sets, bedding clothing, and other relief and rebuilding supplies.

Port Lucaya Marketplace security director Ivan Leroy Moss and marketing and events manager Sheen Miller both fully endorsed the initiative with Moss commenting, “We invite everyone to come down, and would love to see the whole community come out as this can make a huge impact. Bring whatever you have, even if it is just one can.”

The show starts at 8pm and co-hosting the evening alongside Lewis will be the 2014-2015 Miss Universe Bahamas, Tomacina 'Tomii' Culmer, and there will be appearances during the concert from several media personalities across the island.
