Nassau, Bahamas - How often do aspiring singers and entertainers in the Bahamas get the opportunity to perform before some of music industry’s top hit makers? Icon of the Islands is about to change the game. The Caribbean focused groundbreaking talent search, reality television show and concert series has landed on the pristine shores of these isles and is on the search for talented singers, rappers, musical artists and entertainers – ready to step into the limelight.
Hosted by Celebrity Reality Star Yandy of the television hit reality show ‘Love & Hip Hop’, contestants will audition April 1, before music industry heavyweights Amir Windom, Shaheem Reid, Donnie Scantz and radio personality Angela Yee.
The auditions are expected to draw the best talents of the Bahamas to join the hottest interisland talent search with a chance of starring in an exciting Caribbean-based reality show. The top finalists will have all eyes on them as their journey to Icon status is documented during filming of the television reality show. Bahamian finalists will also compete against finalists from across the region at the Grand Finale.
An ‘All White Party’ on April 7 and an explosive launch concert featuring some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry to emerge out of the Caribbean on April 8 at the Thomas A. Robinson Stadium Carnival Grounds rounds out an exciting week of events. Joining established hit makers and world class entertainers such as Tarrus Riley, Sizzla, Morgan Heritage, Alison Hinds and Destra Garcia to ring the bell on Saturday, April 8, the cream of the crop in the Bahamian music industry will also be on hand for the Kick-Off Concert.
The Icon triple-play is expected to impact the Bahamas tremendously, providing a large scaled event attraction for visitors and Bahamians to enjoy.
Created as an avenue to unveil hidden talent gems within the Caribbean, Icon of the Islands earlier this year launched an intensive search across the region, St. Maarten & St Martin, the US and British Virgin Islands and now the Bahamas – adding a spicy twist to the talent search genre. The top finalists from each of the auditions will compete in a grand finale on May 20, with mega prizes at stake for the overall winner.
For those Bahamians who love to follow a concert tour – Icon of the Islands will be hosting similar events – particularly the world class concert series - across the region. In the US and British Virgin Islands Carnival Concert will be held at the Lionel Roberts Stadium in St Thomas April 26 featuring Reggae Icon Sizzla Kalonji and more. Celebrity Radio Personality Angela Yee of NYC The Breakfast Club will headline the auditions, scheduled for April 22. Rounding out the talent search, Icon will travel to St. Maarten and St Martin to host auditions May 6. Radio Personality Angela Lee will also host this event.
