Johnny Kemp jams with new local band in Grand Bahama

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island - On his recent visit to The Bahamas to attend a family funeral recording artist Johnny Kemp took time to attend and participate in a jam session with the new local band run by Nat Cambridge called "First Taste."

First Taste is set to make their debut performance in April in Freeport. Band members are Patrick Victor, Jimmy Lightbourne, Nat Cambridge, Desmond Rolle, Glen Sands and Peterson Pinder.

Johnny Kemp is a Bahamian R&B singer and dancer who began singing in nightclubs in the Bahamas at 13. In 1979 he moved to New York with the band "Kinky Fox. " His self-titled debut album came out in 1986 with his "Just Another Lover." The following year he released his Secrets of Flying album, which contained a pair of Top 5 hits on the US Billboard R&B chart, "Dancin' with Myself" and "Just Got Paid." Just Got Paid went to #1.
