PORT-AU-Prince - Lil Wayne and Chris Brown performed in Haiti recently and even the president, Michel Martelly came out to the free concert on June 26th, where over 5000 attended at the Champs de Mars.
It was Martelly's son, Oliver Martelly, owner of Big O Productions, and Swiss Beatz that put on the concert. Haitian artists, Barikad Crew, T-Micky and DJ Tonymix were also featured on stage.
“Putting
together this concert was important to me because I wanted to provide
the Haitian people a platform of hope and unity through music,” explains
Big O Productions CEO Olivier Martelly to HipHopWired.com. “With this concert, we were
able to do just that, the crowd connected with the artists and we were
able to experience all those emotions as they watched the performances.”
