Young Gii was born and raised in the Bahamas. He quickly fell in love with the world of hip hop at the age of 17 when he moved to America. Young Gii has used his struggles and life experiences as a catalyst to produce great music. Growing up in a single parent home with a mother struggling to provide for him and his siblings, Young Gii, yearned for a better life for him and his family. With a new found passion for music and a dream of achieving greatness Young Gii has set out to achieve his dreams.

In need to make a living Gii started hustling, but not in the streets. He found a different type of hustle as he learned how to cut hair and soon became a master of his trade.“You don’t have to be a gangsta to be real,” said Young Gii and his music is a true testament to that. His lyrics are raw and uncut and the drive and determination can be heard in his voice. With his eagerness to become more than a local rapper and his desire to become an icon for the new generation, he continues to create music that his audience can relate to.

Young Gii has been hard at work. He has already released three great mix tapes, titled “I’m So Ill” hosted by the well-known Chicago DJ Sean Mac,“Step Into My World”and “I Am Young Gii” hosted by the legendary Don Cannon.

Bahamian Hip Hop/Rap Artist Young Gii has recently released three singles that will be on his highly anticipated EP, ‘Islands to the City’, which is expected to be released early Spring of 2015. He connected with Chicago’s King Louie for single "All On My Dih. "The slang titles return today with "Yean Never Seen" which the Hip Hop/Rap Artist celebrates his Bahamian background. As he explains on his SoundCloud, he was inspired by his culture's Junkanoo tradition.

He also released single,“That Ain’t Enough” where he emphasizes the value of his passion in music and how he’s hungry for greatness.
