Miami, FL – The World music band MaWoN is comprised
of a group of young and talented musicians from diverse backgrounds.
Armed with an original sound and smooth blend of Caribbean flavor, they
have been captivating diverse audiences since 2004. After the great
success of their self-titled EP, which was release in May 2008, the band
has been working diligently to answer the requests of their fans and
record and release a full-length album. Due to the devastating effects
of the earthquake of 2010, the band has been focused primarily on
fundraising activities to support the relief efforts in Haiti. These
efforts have kept them extremely busy, but they never stopped making
their music and are now proudly releasing the long anticipated newest
album “Haiti…” on the 2nd anniversary of the earthquake.
MaWoN
is without a doubt one of the most exciting and unique bands of the
moment. They have already established themselves on the live circuit
with showcases at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts,
Haitian Compas Festival, Nova University, Musique en Folie Festival
(Haiti) and various live music venues throughout Florida and New York.
They have had the opportunity to share a stage with such acts as Johnny
Gill, Taylor Dayne, The Manhattans, Jean Carlos Canela, Gregory Isaacs,
T-Payne, Jon Secada and Maxi Priest.
MaWoN has taken the
roots of Haitian music and pushed them to their limits. Leaving none of
the authenticity of tradition behind, MaWoN has created a new sound for
music lovers around the world. The group has recently been invited to
perform in Paris, France and are scheduled to perform this month during
Haiti Week in Dublin, Ireland. http://www.haitiweek.org

like wild fire across the world. Stay tuned!
