Caribbean talent deem Music, Model, Talent Showcase of The Islands ‘A lifechanging experience’

Nassau, Bahamas – The inaugural Music, Model, Talent Showcase of the Islands (Island MMTS) took place July 13th through 19th and was hosted at the Melia Nassau Beach Hotel in The Bahamas. The conference welcomed delegates from 19 Caribbean islands and over 50 VIP Agents, Speakers and international media houses from around the U.S., Canada & Europe who have committed to supporting Caribbean talent in the pursuit of their dreams. Many agents came with the intention to scout for one or two new Caribbean talent and left the conference with the desire and promise to scout and mentor many more as they were simply astonished by the talent the delegates showcased.

Delegates in attendance were from The Bahamian islands; Abaco, Eleuthera, Exuma, Grand Bahama, New Providence/Nassau, Anguilla, Belize, Cuba, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago and  the Turks & Caicos Islands. Over 100 delegates, male and female within 3 age groups starting at age 5 took part in the week-long conference. They had the opportunity to showcase, network, attend seminars and compete within a full program of events designed for aspiring and upcoming models, actors, singers, songwriters and music producers in pursuit of an international career. Conference highlights included the opening ceremony with a “Parade of Nations” featuring all participating islands, key note seminar by actress/director Kim Fields of Tyler Perry Studios, director of Meet The Browns & House of Payne, music industry sessions with nine time Grammy award winning music producer Bryan Michael Cox, model runway shows judged by the heads & scouting agents of Elite Models and Ford Models and over 250 call back sessions. International media houses such as Hunger Magazine, Vibe magazine, Grazia Magazine, B.E.T., MTV as well as AllHipHop.com were also in attendance.

All delegates were able to network 1 on 1 with agents and showcase their various talents whether be modeling, acting, music production, singing or songwriting. The event offered 12 categories of showcasing and competition within 3 age divisions. Categories consisted of Runway, Plus Model, Fashion Print, Commercial Print, Swimwear, TV Beauty Spokesmodel, TV Commercial, Monologue, Singer / Solo, Singer / Duo or Group, Singer/Songwriter and Music Producer. Overall winners from the various categories hailed from Trinidad, New Providence, Guyana, St.Lucia, Turks & Caicos Islands, St.Vincent & The Grenadines and Anguilla.

The next edition of of Music, Model, Talent Showcase of the Islands (Island MMTS) is set for July 2016 and is already in the making as the first round of regional auditions is set to take place end of August 2015.
