JAMAICA - The
latest project from the Blaza Music Group is set to light up the musical
airwaves, unleashing new music from a number of local and overseas artists.
With 20 original tracks, all mixed and mastered by producer Golden Kid, the
album has already been creating a buzz since its recent release.
The
compilation album is entitled
Golden Kid
the Riddim Assassin: Reggae Temple Volume 1 and is done in collaboration
with Roots Life Records. Among the featured artistes include veteran reggae
crooner, Fred Locks, Ghanaian reggae standout, Black I and Bahamian vocalist,
Jah Hem. All three acts have been drawing attention to themselves and the
singles they have on the album, introducing them in articles published in the
local newspaper,
The Jamaica Star.
Conscious
and positive reggae music on various topics is thought to be less popular in
Jamaica when compared to the more vibrant genre of dancehall music. However, it
is felt that the caliber of music on offer from the new compilation could help
generate renewed interest in the music discipline made popular by Bob Marley,
Dennis Brown, John Holt and many other greats.
Feedback
from the top brass at Blaza Music Group has expressed great optimism about many
of the tracks on the album, such as “In My Bible” by Fred Locks. “In My Bible
is very well written and the
production is absolutely flawless. In addition, this single promotes Fred
Locks' smooth vocals which at times remind me of the best of Dennis Brown,”
said CEO of Blaza Music, Daffilous Thompson.
Bahamian
singer, Jah Hem, also expressed great satisfaction with his compositions “First
Time” and “Step Out Gal”, expecting them to be a hit with the masses. “My music
is always positive and about the ladies,” he said.
The album
is currently on sale and includes acts such as Ken Serious, Fragga Ranks,
Stacia and Diamond, among others.
