The Bahamas - The latest single released by Ricardo Clarke is entitled “Why Did You Go”. The single is off his new album “Uprising Special Edition” with the band NMB (No More Babylon) from France. All tracks on the compilation, which was released yesterday, were written by Ricardo Clarke and produced by NMB Band.

The song “Why Did You Go” is especially important to Ricardo Clarke. During his work with youths in various communities and by speaking at community, Church and school events Ricardo has encountered a lot of youths who asked him the question “Why do you think my dad left?"

Ricardo has given a lot of thought to the issue. He says that “As we all know a lot of homes are without fathers for varying reasons.” He explains further that the children were not always angry but very inquisitive. The children demonstrate a lot of independent thinking by asking questions and trying to find answers and understand the situation. They do not just repeat what they hear from the parent left to take care of them but rather want to understand for themselves what happened. Ricardo was touched by many youth in these circumstances dealing with an absent father. “I felt their hurt and pain. I wanted to be the voice for them, asking their questions. I hope it creates conversation and leads to healing”
