The Lignum Vitae Centre of Hope will be ‘Rocking Buena Vista’ on Saturday, April 5th with their fabulous fundraiser at John Watlings Distillery, Delancy Street. The Board of Lignum Vitae and its volunteers, led by Shelagh Pritchard, invites the public who love the music of the 50s and 60s to attend this rockin' good fundraiser which is being held to raise monies for the centre's programmes.

The Great Sammy T and Los Labios from Spain are the guest band playing the best Rock and Roll music from the 50s and 60s – the sound and the songs that cut loose from standard ballads and inspired a whole new genre of music from Elvis Presley to The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and everyone else since then.

Lignum Vitae is dedicated to making their ‘Better is Possible’ slogan a reality every day and to help them in this endeavor, Sammy T and his band Los Labios are donating their time and their talent to make this the most fun event of the year.

Ticket inquiries and purchases can be directed to Ms. Lockhart at 552 5149 or at these locations across the island: Custom Computers Harbour Bay & Cable Beach: Asa H.Pritchard, Robinson & Claridge Rd: Italian Dolce, Seagrapes Shopping Centre: Signman, Shirley Street and the Gallery at Old Fort Bay Shopping Centre.

Tickets are $125 and include 5 hours of fantastic music, dancing, 2 John Watlings mixed drinks, appetisers and late-night bites. VIP seating, socializing with the band available at $175. If you have a favourite song from that era, for $10 you can request it in advance.

If you’re too young to remember those crazy Rock & Roll days, come out and see what you missed and if you were there it’s time to re-wind the fun and the excitement and rock up and rock on with M. C. Nathan Stone, Sammy T and Los Labios. We promise you will have the time of your life and you will be helping a good cause as well! Do you still have your blue-suede shoes?
