International Dancehall artiste Sean Paul is
at the wheels of creativity once more as he puts his creative genius to work.
This time the eclectic artiste is working on
his sixth studio album due to be released this year.
The
Gimmie the Light singjay is in a
Los Angeles studio working on songs for the yet untitled project which he hopes
will follow in the blazing path set by its predecessors
Dutty Rock and
The Trinity.
The singjay will also be going back to basics in his latest effort. “There will
be more Jamaican production on this album compared to
Tomahawk Technique,” Sean Paul hinted on the production side of it
and expects it to make a musical statement.
Sean Paul cemented his presence on the international stage with
Dutty
Rock in 2002 selling over six-million units. The VP/Atlantic
album brought him to the forefront and with it came collaborations with some of
R&B’s greats such as Beyonce with
Baby
Boy and
Give It Up to Me with
Keyshia Cole and Rihanna
Break It Off.
It also earned him Best Reggae Album at the Grammys.
Since then he has not looked back following up with one Billboard hit after
another among them
Baby Boy, Get Busy,
Gimmie The Light, We Be Burning, Still In Love, Mek It Clap and
Temperature.
Sean Paul also made a trek to India where he was a whopping success so much so
that the promoter is already looking forward to having him on a return trip.
Late last year he collaborated with girl group The Saturdays in their new hit
single
What About Us.
Looking ahead for 2013 Sean Paul hopes to recreate the success of his earlier
albums with his latest projects and also to again dominate the Billboard chart
with singles soon to be released.
With reggae breaking new ground every day in other parts of the world Sean Paul
will be looking to take Dancehall to new heights.
Sean Paul was
among the nominees for the Grammy Awards Best Reggae Album for his
Tomahawk Technique album released
through Atlantic Records, making it his fourth album Grammy nomination.
2012 was a year of breaking new ground for
the artiste who headlined Austrias' coolest mobile concert stage-The Red Bull
Secret Tour, where top acts such as Sido, Culcha Candela, Aloe Blacc or Cro
have done it before.
