(VIDEO) T-Connection Brings Back the Memories to The Bahamas with Reloaded Concerts

Freeport/Nassau Bahamas - T-Connection delivered two solid and packed concerts last weekend in the Nation's capital and second city on May 18th and 19th respectfully. Enthusiastic fans at the Wyndham Ballroom were in the company of the Rt Hon Perry Christie, Prime Minister of The Bahamas and his beautiful wife Bernadette who both said the concert was fantastic. 

Both concerts started with the soulful sounds of the legendary Jay Mitchell who warmed the crowd with his acrobatic moves, inimitable entertaining style and a stirring tribute to Whitney Houston.

Fans in Freeport had been begging for a return concert to the city that was home to The Connection Room, formerly the Kiki Rouge where the band used to perform two shows a night when not on tour. The last performance the band did in Grand Bahama was in 2003 at the Camelot Room in the old Princess Hotel. Fans have been keeping up to date with the bands reunion events and leaving comments on the T-Connection Facebook Page, from as far away as Africa.

MC for the night in Freeport was Tony “Macaroni / Zips” Hanna who introduced both acts keeping everyone laughing in anticipation of the headliners.

Theophilus "T" Coakley, the leader, song writer, keyboardist, and all around musical magician introduced the band members who include: Kirkwood Coakley, Berkley Vanbyrd, David Mackey, Les Falconer, Patrick Carey, Anthony 'Monks' Flowers.

T-Connection was nominated for a Grammy in the 70s due to the soulful styling of Theophilus Coakley. He did not disappoint this night as he sang their classics such as “Everything is Cool”, “Just a Little More Love”, “Best of My Love”, “Paradise”, “Goombay Time”, “Daniel”, “Watching the Girls Go by” and “At Midnight”.

The most beautiful ballad of all time, “The Best of My Love” made all of the single women wish they had brought a date. Theophilus then dedicated another equally romantic love song, “Heaven in Your Eyes”to his wife.

Just before the end of the show in Freeport,  was the introduction of the returning Bahamas Minister of Tourism; the Honourable Obie Wilchcombe who said, "They're still the pride of The Bahamas, the best we've ever produced...I'm here tonight because I'm going to be speaking with T ...we're about to do something major in New York and they (The T-Connection) are going to be the featured band that we will use to promote our country."

After both shows, which delivered a kaleidoscope of musical memories, fans rushed to take photos with and congratulate the band members as another reunion concert by the fabulous T-Connection which will go down in the history books.
