Bahamian Teens Prepare for Christian Youth Talent Jam 2014

Nassau, Bahamas. Teenagers from throughout the country including the Family Islands are once again in full preparation mode to take center stage at the 2014 Christian Youth Talent Jam scheduled for Friday October 17th 2014 at the Diplomat Center beginning at 7:30pm.

This highly anticipated annual talent event is once again scheduled to attract a wide cross section of talent representing a number of local churches and high schools. Coordinated and produced by Total Youth Church (TYC) under the direction of newly installed Youth Pastor Lavard ‘Manifest’ Parks, Talent Jam is designed to provide a creative platform for undiscovered talent to express their God given talent in a variety of styles and format including singing, dancing, drama, poetry, comedy and spoken word.

To participate interested participants must be a born again Christian between the age of 12 to 23 years old and a member of a local church and must also produce a written or verbal reference from their youth pastor or senior pastor and must also be living in accordance to biblical standards. There is an entry fee of $25 for individuals, $45 for groups of 2-5 persons and $70 for groups of 6 or more persons and all entry fees must be paid prior to the actual event.

Contestants will be limited to individual or small groups and each contestant will be judged on content, talent, originality,presentation and stage presence. Each performer will only be allowed to perform one selection with a maximum performance time of Five (5) minutes with the exception of the dance and drama performances which will be allowed a total of Seven (7) minutes each.  Contestants can perform original or adapted material however additional points will be distributed for original compositions.

Organizers are hard at work putting the final touches on their plans for what they anticipate would be their most successful Talent Jam to date. There will also be lots of prizes and surprises with the overall winner landing a performance spot on the next Live 242 Untapped National Talent Show. There will also be special live performances from Marlin Award winners Lyrically Blessed and Landlord as well as newcomer Bertrum Oh Bubbler. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door.
