This week #TheCinemas looks at
Between Friends, which is a film from Trinidad and Tobago that begins playing at Galleria Cinema this weekend in Nassau. We're encouraging the public to support the movie and support Caribbean film. We also take a look at
The Purge: Anarchy and the impressive
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
This episode spotlights the
Caribbean Smart Phone Film Contest as well. Caribbean filmmakers are encouraged to begin producing their Smart Phone films in light of the deadline. Galleria Cinemas is still working out the details as to how this will coincide with the 11th Bahamas International Film Festival, but nothing should hinder filmmakers from beginning. Open to the entire Caribbean region. Open to amateurs or professionals. Submission should be 8 - 100 minutes, and can be a narrative or documentary, live action or animated. Watch episode 11 where the contest was announced. You could win $10,000 dollars!
Deadline is October 8th, 2014.
