Although #TheCinemas just wrapped what could probably now be described as its 'pilot' Season in what was supposed to be a 'branding' exercise for Galleria Cinemas is about to be something else entirely different. The Cinemas producers have agreed to move forward with the 'Tempo Network' in New York. The first episode is looking to be aired around mid January 2015.

Tempo is seen throughout the Caribbean Region, from The Bahamas all the way down to Guyana. It's also seen in the tri-state area of New York, and their U.S. distribution is with Optimum/Cablevision, the largest cable provider in the New York Tristate Area.

"The Cinemas is more than a film critic show," says Bahamian filmmaker and brainchild of the show, Travolta Cooper, "It's a show for filmmakers. Whether its myself or others, it's a  filmmakers platform; Caribbean filmmakers in particular. Much of this is of course inspired by the French magazine Cashiers Du Cinema which in it earliest form was the same for filmmakers."

"We've just completed the final episode of The Cinemas, Season 1 and the show turned out to be Cable 12's number one show. The final episode will begin airing September 25th and will run throughout October," said Cooper.

"The Cinemas wasn't really planned. It just kind of happened. I was brought on as a brand ambassador for Galleria Cinemas to spotlight Caribbean Cinemas and that contract was due to end in October. It has ended. Now that we're joining Tempo, it feels like what we called Season One" was really 'pilot season.'"

Travolta said that in January 2015 they will 'officially' begin a Season One for The Cinemas, and up until now it was a warm up - a rehearsal for what's to come. "We're grateful for the opportunity and excited at the possibilities. When I'm not making movies, I'm committing to the Cinemas 100%."

Kevin Crow, a Development Manager at Tempo who said, "The Cinemas has great potential on Tempo as an engine for promoting Caribbean Cinema".

The Cinemas is going to be bigger, and it's going to be a bit different.
