Freeport, GB – This year mother and daughter duo, Kay Hardy and Sarah Kirkby, have gone back to their roots in the theatre; and along with Lynne Friano, have produced a classic British pantomime, now playing at the Regency Theatre in Freeport. ‘Cinderella with a Twist’ follows the somewhat funny story of Cinderella and her bumbling dad, Baron HardUp, struggling to survive in the old town of Freeport.

Thanks to her very, very, very, old Godmother (aka the local Fortune Teller) and her assistant, Cinderella may get out of having to marry the wicked Baron Rudolf.  He, along with some not so clever ‘Gangsters’, try their best to intimidate poor Cinders into marrying Rudolf to save the family estate.  The good news though is that the Prince of Freeport is having a great birthday party and if Cinderella can get to the ball – they may meet and she may be rescued.

Of course, Cinderella has to survive her wicked Step-Mother, Baroness HardUp and her really tall and very rude Step-sisters, Nausea and Phobia!  But don’t worry, Cinders has a friend on her side: Buttons, who has just picked up his cousin Snaps, fresh of the boat from… well no one is sure where?

To add to all this fun (and chaos), the Lois Seiler dance academy has four dance numbers featured in the show.  Including ballet, tap, and an adorable salsa by some cute little mice who are roped into helping get Cinderella to the ball.  There are only three more chances to see this show on Friday the 14th, Saturday the 15th at 8pm and a matinee on Sunday the 16th at 4pm.

Tickets are on sale at the Seventeen Shop, Barefoot Marketing and at the Regency Theatre on performance nights.  Adult tickets are twenty dollars and children under 16 are fifteen dollars each, with all proceeds helping the theatre and its ongoing repairs.
