Weekend of comedy and magic set for Grand Bahama July 3rd and 4th

Magician, juggler and line-up of world-class comedians to bring their talents to the island next weekend

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island – A weekend full of magic and comedy is in store for all ages July 3-4 in Grand Bahama as world class entertainers bringing their talents to the island.

The weekend will kick off on Friday, July 3, when a full complement of talented comedians will bring a night of laughs and fun for the older crowd at the Our Lucaya Convention Centre ballroom.

Saturday, July 4, will be a day of kid-focused fun with a world-renowned magician, exciting juggler, and two favourite cartoon characters appearing live on stage.

Friday’s lineup of comedians includes Marvin Dixon, Chello and AJ, all who have appeared on BET’s Comic View, on other international TV networks, and many popular comedy clubs worldwide. The two-hour comedy event next Friday will be hosted by local personality David Wallace and is sure be a non-stop evening of laughter.

On Saturday the day is all about the young folks, when magician Robert Segal and juggler The Amazing Fettuccine will dazzle and amaze all who attend. In addition to the magic and juggling acts, the event will include a spectacular light show and a dance-off between popular cartoon personalities Sponge Bob Squarepants and Dora the Explorer, both of whom will be on hand to the delight of all who attend, from young children to adults.

Local show organiser and president of Tides Entertainment Orick Nesbitt said that the weekend of fun and laughter is just what Grand Bahama needs. “Everyone in Grand Bahama has felt some of the pressures of today, and it is events like this that will give some relief to the stress and encourage families to spend time together,” Mr Nesbitt said.

Tides Entertainment is a community-minded event company that has in the past supported the efforts of organisations such as BASRA (Bahamas Air-Sea Rescue Association) of Grand Bahama during their recent fundraiser held at Tides Mansion.

Both events will be held at Our Lucaya’s grand ballroom, with doors opening for Friday’s adult comedy affair at 8:00 p.m. and Saturday’s family show opening at 2:00 p.m. Tickets for both events are available at Seventeen Shop, downtown Freeport. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door for Friday’s comedy night, and $25 in advance and $30 at the door for Saturday’s magic and juggling performance. VIP tables are also available on Friday for $50 per person.
