Senior Manager, Information Services
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in the design process and implementation of new and redesigned systems
- Maintenance, trouble-shooting and development of computer programs/applications as assigned
- Implement IT strategies/objectives in support of company business plans and objectives
- Provide support for:
Windows and iSeries applications; communications; intranet; security services; all vendor relations and vendor queries – includes RFPs (review contracts with attorneys, do cost comparisons); research new applications; helpdesk management; compliance and IT standards
- Provide general support to the internal customers by analyzing and providing solutions to Information Services related problems
- Provide user training in methodology and use of computer programs and technology processes
- Document procedures and provide training in the use of business applications
- Work with user departments to resolve issues and provide a path to automating manual procedures
- Take directions from the head of the department. Responsibilities may include direct or indirect supervision of technical and clerical personnel
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Above average knowledge of programming, computer logic and of methodology to run computer systems, including the IBM iSeries & Microsoft Office products
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic insurance competency

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Works closely with department heads to identify legal issues arising out of their operations; to provide practical,
timely, legal advice
- Coordinates and reviews all legal documentation on behalf of FamGuard and its subsidiaries
- Responsible for implementing the compliance strategy and ensuring an acceptable level of compliance and
internal control practices throughout the Company
- Provides guidance on a broad range of legal issues
- Reviews and offers practical solutions prior to sign-off on all legal documentation
- Handles all legal processes related to mortgages, death claims, and legal issues for policyholders
- Maintains the current matrices of regulatory compliance and internal control requirements
- Assists in the education and training of staff on issues of compliance that are applicable to them
- Assists in ongoing dialogue with regulators
- Acts as Money Laundering Reporting Officer for the Company
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Licensed to practice law in The Bahamas
- Five (5) to seven (7) years litigation experience a plus
- Good knowledge of regulatory and internal control requirements (compliance)
- Understanding of insurance industry
