Nassau, Bahamas - For the past three years Family Guardian and its group division,
BahamaHealth, have been major sponsors of the Bahamas Heart
Association's (BHA) Go Red for Women healthy heart initiative which
brings heightened awareness to the issue of heart disease in women. In
presenting the company's 2011 sponsorship pledge to Thelma Johnson, Vice
President, BHA (at centre) and Inez Nixon, member of BHA (at right),
Family Guardian's Vice President, Group Life and Health Division.
Linda
Jarrett noted: "We are happy to partner with the Heart Association once
again in this important community-wide programme. Heart disease is a
primary cause of death and disability in women and the Go Red for Women
initiative underscores the importance of healthy diet and exercise,
coupled with appropriate medical management, to achieve optimum health.
These are key features in our company's ongoing focus on good health for
our clients and the public."
Go Red for Women
is observed each February and includes public lectures, free health
screenings, and the sale of a unique lapel pin – designed and donated by
Family Guardian – that demonstrates support for the Go Red campaign.
