Avengers : Infinity War A cinematic journey 10 years in the making that is a wonder to behold in its pure epicness.

Where Will You Be, When It All Ends?

A group of heroes must put aside their differences to fight against a cosmic danger with a plan to destroy half of the universe’s sentient life. To achieve his goal he must collect six artifacts around the cosmos of unimaginable power and it is up to the heroes to keep them from him. If they fail in their duty then existence itself well pay the ultimate price of their monumental loss.

Thanos is the intergalactic despot from the planet Titan who has a goal of collecting the six Infinity Stones to impose his will on all of the galaxy with his idea of bringing balance to the universe. The Children of Thanos are a collection of powered beings including Cull Obsidian, Ebony Maw, Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive who serve to bring about his will. The Guardians of the Galaxy are a group of space traveling misfits tasked with handling the unexpected galactic level disturbances from one solar system to the next. The Avengers are an assembled group of heroes with diverse skills and powers who join together in times of crisis to defend the Earth and must now move past the group’s internal squabbling to protect the fabric of reality itself from being torn asunder by the power Thanos wishes to possess.

Avengers: Infinity War is the culmination of 10 years and 18 movies worth of storytelling that is the very definition of EPIC. This film going experience is mind-blowing in its attempt and awe inspiring in its execution with varying degrees of success. This motion picture gives you things you didn’t realize you wanted, but due to individual preferences there will be characters you feel are short changed whether it is due to their previous cinematic incarnations or sequential art origins. This theatrical release is like a good comic book Annual done by a hot creative team of writer and artist that you consume for the purpose of seeing how they handle your favorite characters who have become your favorite due to their nuanced interpretation by a seasoned writer & artist team in their own title. Josh Brolin does an imposing job of bringing the mad titan Thanos to life in glorious motion capture and he also joins the likes of Alfre Woodard, Olivia Munn and Peter Dinklage as people who have played different characters in the Marvel media landscape. Anthony and Joe Russo do some astonishing work keeping the pace of this movie going while giving key characters their time in the sun. This screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely is able to blend the right mix of action with dramatic moments and comedic interludes to ease the tension before ramping you up the emotional roller coaster again. Alan Silvestri supplies a orchestral score that fits the larger-than-life narrative of this celluloid event and masterfully fits in nods to the individual themes of the different characters from their own movies. This was a feat of cinematic history that I am glad to have been able to experience in my lifetime. I rate this film a rating of 4 & 1/2 out of 5

P.S.
There is a stinger at the very end of the credits that connect to a character getting her solo film debut next year which will lead into the new Avengers movie also being released next year.
