His Life Just Got Put On Paws...

When a daredevil billionaire is about to complete his company’s greatest achievement to date, when he finds himself trapped inside the body of a cat he was going to give his daughter as a birthday present. He must now find out how he can return to his human body, but as he searches for that answer he will see the family he has been neglecting through a new perspective.

Tom Brand is a workaholic who is on his second marriage and trying to find a perfect gift for his daughter on the eve of his company’s opening of the tallest building in the Northern Hemisphere when an accident leaves him in the body of a cat. Felix Perkins is the owner of the mystical pet store where Tom got the cat he is now in the body of and tells him what he must do to return to his body. Lara Brand is Tom’s second wife who wants him to play a more active role in his daughter’s life and is ready to take steps to make him pay attention. Ian Cox is an executive at Tom’s company who has plans to sell the company to the highest bidder once Tom is out of the picture for good.

Nine Lives is a movie that plays with a family movie staple and does absolutely nothing worth mentioning with it. This movie is very by the numbers in so many ways that you wonder why it was made and how the people that were involved got tricked into participating. If you were expecting the House Of Cards of cat movies because Kevin Spacey is in it then you will be underwhelmed when you watch this flick and Christopher Walken feels like he thinks he is in the sequel to the movie Click. I am not sure why Barry Sonnenfeld directed this one note joke of a motion picture, but I am hoping the episodes of the series A Series of Unfortunate Events that he directs will wipe this particular directing effort from my memory. I rate this movie a 1 out of 5.
