Iron Man How to start a cinematic universe

Heroes aren't born. They're built.

This is the first movie by the film division of Marvel Studios and shows that there is hope for the House Of Ideas' comic book creations on the silver screen when handled by the company that created them. The movie has a great Summer blockbuster feel and the right mix of action, adventure, comedy and drama to make it fun for anyone even if they are not familiar with the character.

Tony Stark is a playboy billionaire industrialist who has a figurative and literal change of heart after he is captured by insurgents and given the task of making a missile. Obadiah Stane is the second in command of Stark industries and must deal with the fact that Tony is stopping the company from manufacturing weapons which he has been selling to terrorists. Lt. Colonel James Rhodes is the military liaison to Stark Industries and Tony Stark’s friend who must deal with Tony's change in attitude after what happened in Afghanistan. Virginia "Pepper" Potts is Tony Stark's executive assistant doing her best to keep the engineering genius part of him balanced with all the other parts of himself.

Jon Favreau does an excellent job of directing this movie and is even able to give himself a small part as Tony Stark's bodyguard, Happy Hogan. Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), The Orphanage and The Embassy are on point when it comes to making the special effects with comic book origins have a real world feel in this motion picture. Ramin Djawadi is able to supply a cool score for the film with the help of Hans Zimmer & Tom Morello that really drives home the action of this hardcore heavy metal rock star type of hero. Robert Downey Jr. , Terrence Howard, Gwyneth Paltrow & Jeff Bridges ground the film in realty with their strong performances with Paul Bettany, Leslie Bibb, Clark Gregg & Samuel L Jackson doing great stuff in their limited supporting roles to flesh out the universe. This is one movie that no one will want to miss and should live up to everyone's expectations. I rate this movie a rating of 4 out of 5.
