A weak sequel that is more filler than actual movie

When a young woman in high school decides to attend a frat party on Halloween in an area with a violent past, it is up to her grand aunt and friends to keep her out of trouble. During the course of the night as party-goers continue to go missing, everyone finds themselves believing in the legend of the haunted camp grounds.

Madea is the most outspoken leader of a group of seniors that includes her brother Joe and friends Hattie & Aunt Bam who all end up working together to try and keep her grand niece safe. Brian is Madea’s nephew who must deal with his daughter’s growing disrespect for him due to her mother and her mother’s boyfriend’s increasingly bad influence. Tiffany is Brian’s daughter who has just turned 18 years old and wants to be free to do things she was not allowed to do when she was younger including hooking up with a certain fraternity member. Debrah is Brian’s ex-wife and Tiffany’s mother who has been encouraging her daughter’s disrespectful attitude due to her own continued bitterness about her divorce.

Boo 2! A Madea Halloween is a sequel that does nothing to build on the original apart from explaining its own existence with the inclusion of the mother as a reason for why the daughter has failed to mature. This is a movie that pads its runtime with unfunny scenes that are stretched out to the point of absurdity and do nothing to further the plot of the story. The cast is uninspired and are unable to elevate the material they are presented with except for Patrice Lovely who is able to bring genuine laughs with her physical comedy. Tyler Perry had an opportunity to show us that this sequel was not just a cash grab but decided to give us a flick that feels like it is made up of rejected scenes from the recycle bin of the first movie. I can not stress enough how low brow and bereft of any morally uplifting messages this movie is. At least with the first one he tried to shoehorn in a family message at the end, but this one is just a collection of everything that made the original barely watchable. I rate this a rating of 1 out of 5.

P.S.

He has the audacity to put outtakes during the end credits that are just as bad as the main movie, but with better sound when compared to certain scenes in the actual feature.
