General Situation: Broad low pressure system along with a surface
trough east of the Bahamas could trigger some scattered showers or
isolated thunderstorms as it moves northward through Tuesday. This
system could develop into a tropical depression before it eventually
merges with a frontal boundary across the area by the end of the week.
High pressure system will build over the eastern United States while
producing brisk winds across the Bahamas by the weekend.
16th – Partly sunny, hot and humid with few passing showers or a
possible thunderstorm during the day. Mainly fair to clear skies at

the Southeast Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands, as the dangerous
Hurricane Maria eyes those islands, which were already impacted by
Hurricane Irma a week ago.
This means that residents in those
islands: Inagua, Acklins, Crooked Island, Mayaguana, Long Cay, Samana

models, when Hurricane Jose completes it loop on Friday, September 15,
2017, it will be pointed more towards the Carolinas and Virginia, USA.

discontinued, hence the All Clear has been given for those islands which

Bahamian meteorologist and hurricane book author, Wayne Neely gives his
explanation about the receding water around Long Island, Acklins and
Exuma in light of Hurricane Irma.
He writes, "A hurricane is a low-pressure area and at the center of the hurricane,
you have a buildup or the piling up (a bulging effect) of water called
the storm surge. At the center of the hurricane (in this case-Hurricane
Irma), the water builds up at 10 to 15 feet above the normal high tide.
That water must come from somewhere else and for this case, it came from
the outskirts or the outer boun
of Hurricane Irma and which for us it came from the islands of Long
